We encourage all parents and grownups to pay extra attention to the following online-security rules for children:
- Never give anyone personal information, like your real name, age, address, phone number.
- Never give passwords to anyone except trusted adults. This ensures no one steals your online identity and misuses it.
- Tell your parents or trusted adults if someone is saying or doing something on the internet that feels uncomfortable. And if someone asks you to give out any personal information.
- Choose a username that does not reveal your real identity. Also, stay away from names that can be provocative or rude, even if they seem innocent to you.
- Stay away from chatrooms that aren’t supervised by a moderator.
(Crimeville is supervised and premoderated also).
